At Callala Community Garden, we believe in fostering a sense of community and promoting sustainable living practices through our shared garden space.
Located in the heart of Callala, CCG provides a welcoming environment for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together, connect with nature, and learn about gardening.
Callala Community Garden (CCG) was established in 2018 to provide a positive and useful community activity growing fresh vegetables, flowers, and fruit as well as providing a place of friendship and camaraderie.
The groundswell of support received since 2018 has shown the benefit of fostering more social, emotional, and collaborative opportunities in the neighbourhood; the garden is a place people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds can enjoy, make new friends, and be included in an activity, either physically or mentally.
Seeing how our members have thrived from being involved at CCG is heart-warming. Members of the public regularly come to have a chat, take photographs, and simply enjoy the environment. Even if they don't become members, the value of CCG to the wider community cannot be qualified in dollar terms.
For someone just needing a chat or a bright spot in their day, CCG has proven very beneficial.
